Dynasty Fantasy Baseball: 10 Players to Buy Before Opening Day
Joey Gallo has re-tooled his swing, which could lead to a huge 2018 season. Which other players should we be looking to buy in dynasty fantasy baseball before opening day?

Zack Godley, SP, Arizona Diamondbacks

Most offseason changes in ballparks come via a shift of scenery. The Arizona Diamondbacks' starters didn't need that. Instead, the team decided to install a humidor, which has the potential to decrease homers at the stadium by a significant amount. That's good news for everyone from Zack Greinke down to Patrick Corbin, but we're going to focus on Zack Godley here.

Of all the pitchers in Arizona's rotation, Godley's actually the one who needs the ball assistance least. Godley's 55.3% ground-ball rate is much higher than the league average, so homers aren't really an issue. But the humidor will cut down on exit velocity, meaning every pitcher benefits. Add this onto the fact that the public hasn't fully adjusted to Godley's breakout in 2017, and he looks like a bargain.

In 155 innings, Godley had a 26.3% strikeout rate and 8.5% walk rate. That strikeout rate has the potential to get higher with his 13.3% swinging-strike rate and a curveball that graded among the best in the bigs. He may be a late bloomer, but it doesn't get much better than that.

Godley has shown what he can do without the humidor already, and a year of continued excellence would put his price through the roof. It's wise to check in on guys like Robbie Ray and Taijuan Walker, too, but Godley needs to be on your radar.
