Price: $2,000
Going back to the Royals and their juicy implied total, Jon Jay is another left-handed stick who gets a big boost from his matchup with James Shields and that egregious 5.97 xFIP.
Jay is projected to bat leadoff for KC, giving him a good chance to see plenty of plate appearances. He's also priced at the minimum, where it's easy to like just about any leadoff hitter on a team with such a high implied total.
Making things better, Jay is no slouch against righties, having posted a reasonable .327 wOBA while slashing .289/.364/.384 in 2017. Those aren't exciting numbers by any stretch, but when you factor in his matchup, lineup spot, and price-tag, it's more than enough to make him a top-end value option.
