We're far enough into the season now that we've got a handful of pitchers making their second starts of the season tonight, and that group includes Justin Verlander.

Verlander looked great in his first outing of 2018, allowing only four hits and no earned runs while striking out five over six innings. A one-game sample doesn't tell us much, but when you combine that strong showing with the 2.59 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA), 35.8% strikeout rate and 4.2% walk rate he posted in 5 starts with the Astros to close out 2017, there's a lot to be excited about.

The Astros are the main slate's biggest favorites (-211 moneyline), and the Baltimore Orioles have the second-lowest implied total on the slate. They have also looked like a great fantasy matchup for right-handed pitchers to start the year, striking out at a top-10 rate, which is right in line with where they finished (ninth-highest strikeout rate) in 2017.
