Lorenzo Cain has torn the cover off the ball to start the season (9-for-22 with a home run), but if you've been riding his hot streak in DFS this might be the time to hop off the bandwagon.
St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Carlos Martinez struggled in his first start of the season (he allowed four earned runs in 4 1/3 innings), but he still managed his fair share of strikeouts, with five in the game. Going beyond this year's one-game sample, Martinez has been proven deadly against right-handed batters, holding them to a .266 wOBA in 371 innings. This is driven by his success in striking right-handed hitters out -- which he does 27.3% of the time -- and in his ability to limit hard contact, as right-handed hitters have posted just a 25.2% hard-hit rate against Martinez.
Cain's strong hitting to open the season was nice while it lasted, but he will come back to Earth against one of the premier strikeout pitchers in the game.
