The Milwaukee Brewers will be starting Brent Suter on Thursday, and while his 3.42 ERA in 2017 looks impressive on the surface, it was accompanied by a 4.37 SIERA, which brings his career-average to a pedestrian 4.35 SIERA over his first two MLB seasons. He allowed a .324 wOBA to right-handed hitters, and combining that with the Chicago Cubs' 4.59 implied total (the main slate's second-highest) puts Kris Bryant in a great spot.
Dangerous against any pitcher, Bryant is coming off a 2017 campaign that saw him post a career-best .399 wOBA. His work against southpaws was particularly deadly, though, as he turned a 41.6% fly-ball rate, 12.9% soft-hit rate and 35.6% hard-hit rate into a .405 wOBA and .218 isolated slugging (ISO).
