3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 4/9/18
Eric Hosmer is facing a righty in Coors, but Jon Gray has been tough on lefties throughout his career. Which other players should you stay away from tonight?

Fading a hitter in Coors may feel like a fool's errand, but it may not be worth trying to roster Eric Hosmer on Monday. For starters, the full Coors Field effect isn't fully realized in this chilly April weather. More importantly, though, is the matchup against Jon Gray and the dynamite Colorado bullpen.

Gray has actually been tougher on left-handed hitters than right-handed hitters in his career, holding them to a .304 wOBA. The numbers for left-handers actually get worse when Gray is at home as lefty sticks in Coors have a .302 wOBA against Gray in his career. With Hosmer's early-season batting average buoyed by a ridiculous .423 batting average on balls in play, he is destined for regression and is in an under-the-radar tough matchup.

Moreover, even though the early returns aren't promising, Colorado's bullpen is littered with former closers and other relievers who have had success in 2017. Especially with Wil Myers out and few other major threats on this San Diego Padres roster, tough left-hander Jake McGee could be brought in to face Hosmer in the late innings.
