We don't have a lot of top-end pitching or huge favorites on Thursday's five-game main slate, so Jose Berrios stands out above the crowd.
The Minnesota Twins are the second-biggest favorites on the slate, and the Chicago White Sox have a tame 3.72 implied total, the second-lowest mark of the night.
The White Sox have looked capable against righties to start the season, but Berrios has been scary in 2018. Two starts is obviously a small sample, but he has allowed only an 18.9% hard-hit rate while forcing a 37.8% soft-hit rate. His strikeout rate is also up to 25.5% while his walk rate sits at 2.0%.
The 23-year-old already showed huge improvement between 2016 and 2017, with his strikeout rate jumping from 17.4% to 22.6% and his skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) falling from 5.36 to 4.29, and he looks to be taking another step forward in 2018.
