Daily Fantasy Baseball: Positive Batted-Ball Regression Candidates for Week 4
Whit Merrifield's bat has been light on extra-base pop, but advanced statistics show him making major contact gains. What other hitters could be on the verge of breaking out for daily fantasy players in Week 4?

Evan Gattis, DH, Houston Astros

While he's never quite matched the promise of his Cinderella seasons with the Atlanta Braves in 2013 and 2014, Evan Gattis' power potential in a loaded Houston Astros lineup has made him a popular punt play in DFS, though his early results in 2018 (.183 batting average with just one home run) has taken some of the shine off his sleeper status.

The late-blooming Gattis isn't exactly falling off a cliff, though, as he's still toting a respectable 29.8% hard-hit rate, while his chase rate and swinging-strike rate are at significant career lows. Daily players in need of cheap upside might give Gattis a spin in Week 4, when he squares off against middling lefties Marco Gonzales and Ariel Miranda, who could play into the slugger's notable platoon splits.
