3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 4/24/18
Robbie Ray's upside is scary good, but tonight's matchup with the lefty-mashing Phillies is surprisingly tough.

Charlie Morton, SP, Houston Astros

FanDuel Price: $9,900

Charlie Morton had a breakthrough season in his first year with the Houston Astros, and he has since built upon that with a fantastic to start to 2018. His strikeout rate and ground-ball rate are both up, and his walk rate, fly-ball rate, and hard-hit rate are down en route to a 2.37 SIERA.

Still, all of this is accounted for as he is the most expensive pitcher on the slate, but he certainly won't finish the season with a sub-1.00 ERA. There is some regression expected for Morton moving forward, and the Los Angeles Angels aren't the matchup to target opposing pitchers.

It starts with their ability to avoid strikeouts. Only three teams strike out at a lower rate against right-handed pitching than the Angels (18.5%), and the Angels have a top-five hard-hit rate (37.1%) at that. That rare combination of contact and power is why the Angels have a top-10 wRC+ against right-handed pitching.

While Morton's form makes him a good bet most nights, tonight's difficult matchup might be one to avoid on Tuesday's slate.
