Anthony Rizzo has had a slow start to the 2018 season, already going on the disabled list with a back injury. His 31.7% hard-hit rate and 19.4% strikeout rate would both be his worst marks he's posted as a member of the Chicago Cubs.
On paper, Rizzo may appear to have a solid matchup this Thursday, facing a right-handed pitcher in Chase Anderson. Anderson is a solid pitcher, but he certainly isn't one who will prevent MLB DFS players from using Rizzo in the hopes that he has a big night.
However, Anderson actually probably should be a reason to not use Rizzo, because of his reverse splits. Even though he is a right-handed pitcher, left-handed hitters struggle against Anderson. In his career, Anderson has held left-handed batters to a .297 wOBA, including a 28.4% hard-hit rate.
That makes Rizzo tough to stomach tonight, especially since he'll likely see a fair amount of ownership against a righty.
