Lucas Duda hasn't had a productive start to 2018, but those struggles shouldn't have you ignoring his work against right-handed pitching.
Early on, he has notched a 38.5% hard-hit rate and 46.2% fly-ball rate against righties, and that has translated to a .353 wOBA. That's right in line with the .360 mark he posted (to go along with a .298 ISO) in 2017.
Chicago White Sox right-hander Reynaldo Lopez makes for a great matchup tonight. Even though his 1.50 ERA appears to be elite, it's accompanied by a 5.00 SIERA, which is right in line with his 4.92 career average. Over his three major league seasons, he has a particularly rough 5.39 xFIP against left-handed hitters, making this an especially good spot for a power guy like Duda.
