Daily Fantasy Baseball: Positive Batted-Ball Regression Candidates for Week 6
Despite his lack of production, Justin Smoak has cut way down on soft contact and swinging strikes. Which other hitters might be on the verge of breaking through this week?

Cameron Maybin, OF, Miami Marlins

Like most of his Miami Marlins teammates, Cameron Maybin has spent the first lap of 2018 looking pathetic at the dish, with the journeyman outfielder cobbling together a less-than-stellar .227/.330/.330 triple slash and just 14 combined runs and RBIs in 103 plate appearances.

But if you look under the hood, you'll notice that Maybin is among the league leaders with his 29.7% line-drive rate, all while toting a respectable 35.4% hard-hit rate and 12.6% walk rate. With his FanDuel salary lurking near the minimum, he makes for a worthy contrarian play.

Perhaps he and his Marlins teammates can catch tough but inconsistent hurlers like Jose Quintana, Yu Darvish, and Sean Newcomb on a bad day in Week 6.
