4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 5/3/18
The Orioles are taking on young righty Jaime Barria, putting Baltimore's lefties in a good spot. Which other lost-cost players should you check out?

Pedro Alvarez, 3B, Baltimore Orioles

Price: $2,400

Like Morrison, Pedro Alvarez has a low BABIP to start the year (.225), but that hasn't stopped him from producing. Over 75 plate appearances, he has turned a 39.1% hard-hit and 54.3% fly-ball rate into a .382 wOBA.

We have to go all the way back to 2016 to get a significant sample size, but Alvarez has turned in a solid .354 wOBA and .254 ISO in 485 plate appearances against right-handed pitching since the start of 2016.

Los Angeles Angels righty Jaime Barria has only two MLB starts under his belt, but his identical 12.5% walk and strikeout rates as well as his 6.32 SIERA are not promising marks. In 61 2/3 Double-A innings a year ago, Barria mustered a mere 18.1% strikeout rate while giving up a 53.3% fly-ball rate.
