FanDuel Price: $3,600
Matt Davidson was a bit of an older prospect coming into 2017, but he delivered with 26 home runs in just 118 games. So far in 2018, he has proven that his power was no fluke as he has already bopped nine homers.
However, despite the raw power, he is tough to use against right-handed pitching because of an obscene 36.7% strikeout rate against them. Despite excellent batted-ball stats (41.6% hard-hit and 42.7% fly-ball rate) against right-handed hitters, Davidson's wRC+ against right-handed pitchers is below 100 because of his strikeout problems.
Friday night, he has to face Jose Berrios, a nasty right-hander who is having a career year so far on the mound. Berrios has been downright sick this year, posting a 3.16 SIERA. He's also been extremely difficult for right-handed hitters to face. In his career, he has held them to a .304 wOBA, including a 23.3% strikeout rate and just a 27.2% hard-hit rate. Davidson isn't worth rostering above $3,000 in this tough matchup.
