FanDuel Price: $2,100
There's no getting around it -- Evan Gattis is struggling.
Gattis owns a putrid .247 wOBA, and his strikeout rate has jumped to 30.5%, blowing his career 21.8% strikeout rate out of the water. We can't hang our hat on a bunch of bad luck, either, as Gattis has never held a high BABIP, and his expected weighted on-base average sits at just .244.
But his average exit velocity essentially remains unchanged, and he's still hitting fly balls at a high rate. This is a guy who owns a career .223 ISO, after all, and he'll have the platoon advantage against Brett Anderson, a low-strikeout pitcher who managed a middling 4.84 SIERA last season. We know the Houston Astros are capable of churning out runs, and you could do worse than round out a stack with Gattis as a salary-saver.
