5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 5/7/18
Despite a slow start to the year, Adam Duvall offers appealing upside against a lefty. Which other budget-friendly hitters should you target on Monday?

Aaron Altherr, OF, Philadelphia Phillies

Price: $2,500

Aaron Altherr and the Philadelphia Phillies don't draw quite as good of a pitching matchup as the other players I've outlined do, but Jeff Samardzija hasn't been pitching like his usual self this year.

It has been just a three-start sample, but Samardzija's SIERA sits at 5.65, while his 15.4% walk rate is worryingly close to his 18.5% strikeout rate. His 34.9% hard-hit rate and 9.3% soft-hit rate are also on pace to be career-worst clips.

Altherr is coming off a 2017 season that saw him post a .363 wOBA and .236 ISO on a 35.7% hard-hit rate in 289 plate appearances against right-handed hurlers, and Samardzija's recent struggles make this a very appealing spot for him.
