That contact has translated to a ton of production, with a .427 wOBA and .298 ISO -- not exactly the kind of numbers you expect from a guy priced this low.

San Diego Padres southpaw Eric Lauer only has three Major League starts under his belt, but his 4.44 SIERA in that sample isn't anything special. He also only managed a 4.30 xFIP in his three Triple-A starts in 2018. He doesn't pose a big threat to slow Gyorko down here.
