3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 5/24/18
Ryan Braun has long track record of success against lefties, giving him plenty of upside against Steven Matz. Which other budget-friendly hitters should you target on Thursday's three-game main slate?

Hernan Perez, OF, Milwaukee Brewers

Price: $2,000

With value being hard to come by, going all the way down to the minimum salary can be really appealing if you can pull it off. And tonight you can, with Hernan Perez.

Perez doesn't inspire a ton of confidence. His .279 wOBA is egregious, and his career numbers aren't much better. He has been borderline competent against southpaws over the past couple years, though, with a much less concerning .318 wOBA on a 33.1% hard-hit rate. That's still not exciting, or even good, but it's also not terrible enough that he can't produce in the right spot.

The Milwaukee Brewers' 4.63 implied total is the highest mark on today's main slate, meaning this looks a lot like "the right spot." New York Mets southpaw Steven Matz has allowed a huge .360 wOBA, 41.2% hard-hit rate and 43.2% fly-ball rate to right-handed bats this season, and tonight is a spot in which we can actually expect some mediocre production from Perez -- something that would be more than enough to create big value at this price-point.
