Fantasy Baseball: 5 Pitchers to Stream in Week 9
Rising Mariners lefty Marco Gonzales draws a soft two-start assignment against the Rangers and Rays. Which other promising arms are there for the taking on your waiver wire in Week 9?

Caleb Smith, Miami Marlins

Starts: May 28th at San Diego Padres, June 2nd at Arizona Diamondbacks
ESPN percentage owned: 22.7%

We tabbed Caleb Smith for his start against the southpaw-averse New York Mets last week, and the 26-year-old delivered with 6.2 frames of one-run, eight-strikeout ball. Let's dial up the Miami Marlins' hurler once again for a scheduled two-step against a pair of sputtering offenses. Both the Diamondbacks and Padres are bottom-three across the majors in group isolated slugging over the last month, with both squads jockeying with the Texas Rangers for the worst team strikeout rate over that span.

Granted, the Pads and D-backs sport platoon splits that see them improve from downright awful to merely league-average against lefties, but even so, the overall offensive futility and pitcher-friendly environments on tap for Smith make the Miami southpaw one of the more intriguing streamers on the Week 9 slate.
