After healing up and returning from the disabled list this weekend, Starling Marte draws a matchup with Jon Lester this evening. Lester has fared decidedly worse against right-handed batters in his career, including a 1.20 home runs per nine innings pitched (HR/9) and a 39.7% fly-ball rate against righties in 2018. But Marte may be one player we want to fade against the southpaw tonight.

Over the last two seasons, in 113 plate appearances, Marte has been downright awful against lefties, toting a .178 batting average, .244 wOBA, and 30.0% hard-hit rate. While Lester struggles to keep base-runners from running wild against him, that could be hard for Marte given his inability to get on base.
