Righty-righty matchups have not been kind to Sonny Gray during his rough start to 2018. He has allowed a 5.02 xFIP and huge .397 wOBA on a 35.6% hard-hit rate to right-handed bats.
Trey Mancini's three Major League seasons have seen him make 582 plate appearances against right-handed pitching, giving us a solid sample-size to work with without having to go back too far.
In that sample, he has managed a .342 wOBA and .195 ISO -- both better than his marks against southpaws -- which are solid numbers even in a less-appealing matchup. Adding the boost he gets taking on Gray makes this spot even better for Mancini.
