Even so, the erstwhile star infielder has a respectable 22.6% liner rate and 35.1% hard-contact rate since the start of last month, with Statcast tabbing him for a .460 expected slugging on the season, a mark which far eclipses his actual clip of .297.
Kipnis' FanDuel salary continues to hover around $3,000, and with his lefty stick poised to face Junior Guerra, Michael Fulmer, and Mike Fiers this week, daily players might have an intriguing low-cost contrarian play on their hands.
