If there was one simple rule for DFS, it would be don't invest money in players who are openly calling themselves terrible. You would have to break that rule if you want to try rostering Danny Duffy on Monday's short main slate.

Duffy has a 5.71 ERA, and his 4.99 SIERA, while better, still doesn't paint a pretty picture. Duffy owns a 10.7% walk rate, and he is also surrendering a 44.3% fly-ball rate and 39.5% hard-hit rate, a horrible combination for pitchers.
Duffy has an absolutely brutal road matchup against the Los Angeles Angels. Against left-handed pitching this season, the Angels are 8th-best at avoiding strikeouts (20.4%), 8th in walk rate (9.8%), 10th in hard-hit rate (36.5%), and 2nd in fly-ball rate (39.4%). It turns out having studs like Mike Trout, Justin Upton, Zack Cozart, and Ian Kinsler -- all of whom bat from the right-hand side of the plate -- puts you in a good spot against southpaws.
Struggling all season and facing a team that pounds left-handers, Duffy shouldn't find his way onto your DFS lineups.
