Finding Betting Value in the Odds for the 2018 National League Cy Young Award
Max Scherzer is the clear favorite as of now, but which other players could push for the NL Cy Young?

Gio Gonzalez, Washington Nationals

Odds: 20/1

Yes, there are three Washington hurlers in the top-six of this list, but if you look at the numbers, Gio Gonzalez deserves to be mentioned with Strasburg and Scherzer.

Gonzalez has been one of the best pitchers in the NL this season, with an ERA of 2.27 that is the fifth-lowest in the league. His strikeout rate of 24.2% and walk rate of 9.4% are almost exactly in line with his career numbers. Opponents are hitting .222 off him this year, and he's giving up just 0.50 homers per nine innings this season, the fifth-best mark in the league.

Gio has been one of baseball's most consistent pitchers over the last nine seasons, and although he probably won't beat out either of his teammates for the Cy Young, he has shown to be one of the better hurlers in the National League once again this season.
