This week, Jason Heyward came to the plate in the bottom of the 9th inning with two outs and his team trailing by two runs, and he did this off a pretty good left-handed relief pitcher.
Since coming off the disabled list on May 18, Heyward has been the hottest he's been in a Chicago Cubs uniform, hitting .338/.361/.515 in his last 72 plate appearances, with 5 doubles and 2 triples. On the season, he is now batting .273/.333/.412 with a wOBA of .323.
But it's wiser to trust his wOBA from the last two seasons -- .282 and .311 -- and sell-high on a player who is riding a hot streak.
