We've got only 46 plate appearance to work with for Lonnie Chisenhall in 2018, as he missed a couple months with injury. But he's sporting a decent .340 wOBA in that time, with a strong 37.1% hard-hit that doesn't really leave any concerns.
If we look back to 2017 to get a bigger sample, he did some solid work against right-handed pitching, posting a .355 wOBA and .249 isolated slugging (ISO).
He's up against a righty today in James Shields, who has struggled to the tune of a 5.06 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) on the season. That puts him on pace for his third consecutive season with a SIERA above 4.90, and with Shields' 5.06 xFIP against left-handed bats, this is a terrific spot for Chisenhall.
