Joc Pederson is having a career-year from the dish in 2018, converting a 40.1% hard-hit rate, 18.3% soft-hit rate and 45.1% fly-ball rate (all better than his career-averages) into career-highs in both wOBA (.380) and ISO (.283).
He has been especially productive in his 163 plate appearances against right-handed pitching, with a .416 wOBA and .322 ISO. That positions him very well tonight against the New York Mets' Zack Wheeler.
Wheeler hasn't been bad this season, but his 4.15 SIERA isn't a scary mark, and the 41.1% hard-hit rate, 15.6% soft-hit rate and 40.2% fly-ball rate he's allowing to left-handed hitters leaves plenty of room for Pederson to take advantage of this matchup.
