5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 7/6/18
Daniel Murphy draws a prime matchup against Miami's Dan Straily tonight. What other budget-friendly hitters should you target on Friday?

Daniel Murphy, 1B, Washington Nationals

Price: $2,800

The Washington Nationals once again have the day's highest implied total, at 5.18 in their plus matchup against the Miami Marlins and righty Dan Straily.

Straily is sporting a career-worst 4.84 SIERA through 12 games this season. His struggles have been especially pronounced against left-handed bats, giving up a .360 wOBA and 4.80 xFIP that make this a very appealing spot for Daniel Murphy.

Murphy has struggled in 20 big league games this season, as he works his way back from knee surgery. He did show plenty of promise in his Minor League rehab games, though, with a .371 wOBA and .216 ISO, so the injury doesn't seem to have completely derailed him.

In 2017 he crushed righties for a .396 wOBA and .231 ISO, and even if he's not back to 100% after the injury, this great matchup with Straily makes it well worth taking a shot at Murphy's talent level. That's especially the case when he's such a cost-effective way to get exposure to the day's top offense.
