In a season in which the Houston Astros rotation is doing historic things, 2015 AL Cy Young Award winner Dallas Keuchel may be the fifth-best of the bunch. Keuchel's struggles have flown under the radar because of how successful Houston has been as a team, but it should be noted for DFS purposes.
Keuchel's 8.7% swinging-strike rate is the lowest of his career since his rookie year. The same thing holds true for his 55.3% ground-ball rate. His hard-hit rate of 28.6%, while still extremely good, is above his career rate of 28.6%. And all that adds up to a 3.95 SIERA that is slightly above average yet certainly below ace caliber.
The Detroit Tigers also feature an underrated lineup, especially against southpaws. They rank sixth as a team with a 108 wRC+ against left-handed pitching. They also boast the third-lowest strikeout rate (19.9%) and the ninth-best hard-hit rate (37.0%) against southpaws.
