10 Dynasty Fantasy Baseball Assets to Buy Before the Second Half
Carlos Rodon seems to finally be healthy, meaning he could start to live up to the hype he once carried as a high-end draft pick. Which other players should we buy for dynasty fantasy baseball for the second half of the season?

Matt Chapman, 3B, Oakland Athletics

Speaking of young guys with injuries, Matt Chapman missed time earlier this year due to an issue with his hand. That's another ailment that could sap away power, which is what Chapman does best at the dish. He hasn't been awful since coming off the disabled list, though, and his overall body of work this year should raise eyebrows.

Both in the minors and when he got called up last year, Chapman had a bit of a strikeout issue. In 2017, Chapman had a 30.9% strikeout rate in Triple-A and 28.2% in the Majors. That's going to kill a batting average pretty quickly.

But this year, things have been different. His strikeout rate is down to 23.6%, coming with a 10.6% walk rate. He has done that while simultaneously upping his hard-hit rate to 44.1%. That's a really, really fun combination.

With Chapman, it might be all right to hold off on buying until a few games after the break to see what kind of contact he's making. The hand injury is still a concern. But he's a defensive wizard who will always play when healthy, so we'll want to pounce on Chapman before he gets back to obliterating baseballs the same way he did in the early part of 2018.
