FanDuel Price: $2,300
The catcher/first base slot can be a punt position at times, and veteran Russell Martin might look particularly appealing at a near-minimum price. However, a deep dive into Martin's metrics shows that he probably isn't a fantastic option against Jose Berrios of the Minnesota Twins.
Despite an offense that has surged into the top-10 in terms of wOBA over the last two weeks (.337), Martin has had his hands full against righties in 2018, posting only a .292 wOBA and 30.2% hard-hit rate in the split. Berrios, meanwhile, has been at his best against same-sided bats, allowing righties to post a mere .292 wOBA with a 24.6% strikeout rate.
It's best to stay away here.
