FanDuel Price: $4,600
George Springer is certainly having a solid year, but it is still a down season by his standards. His 115 wRC+ is well below his career mark of 129 and even further below his 140 wRC+ in the Houston Astros' World Series campaign a year ago.
Springer's 35.8% fly-ball rate and 34.8% hard-hit rate are nothing to scoff at, but they are not the same superstar marks that we have come to expect from him. Springer's struggles against right-handed pitching this year are most notable, as he has devolved into an average hitter -- with a 102 wRC+ -- against them this season.
Springer is also facing the Colorado Rockies' Jon Gray, who has been absolutely filthy this year. Gray has a 13.1% swinging-strike rate and has held batters to a 27.3% fly-ball rate. He's been even better against right-handed hitters, holding them to a 22.6% fly-ball rate and 31.6% hard-hit rate. Coors or no Coors, this is a tough price to pay in this particular matchup.
