5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 7/26/18
Mallex Smith combines an improved hitting approach with added upside on the basepaths. Which other budget-friendly hitters should you target?

Joey Gallo, OF, Texas Rangers

Price: $2,800

As has been the story for most of the season, Joey Gallo's floor is certainly where you'd expect for a cheap bat, but his upside is not at all captured by his salary. And that's especially the case when he's up against a right-handed pitcher like he is tonight.

Oakland's Trevor Cahill isn't a bad righty by any stretch, but he's allowing a worrying 37.7% hard-hit rate to left-handed bats this season.

Among hitters with at least 50 batted-balls against right-handed pitching, Gallo ranks top-10 in both average batted-ball distance and exit velocity. His massive power against righties is nothing new either, and in 794 plate appearances over his young career he has turned in a .296 ISO on a 47.2% hard-hit, 12.9% soft-hit and 52.5% fly-ball rate. Gallo may be the slate's best low-priced tournament option.
