A year removed from a solid campaign with the Tampa Bay Rays, Alex Cobb gets to face his former teammates tonight, and unfortunately, 2018 hasn't gone quite like Cobb expected.
Last year, Cobb recorded 12 wins and a 3.66 ERA, but this season has been ugly. He has a ridiculously poor 2-13 record along with a 6.17 ERA and paltry 15.2% strikeout rate over 97 2/3 innings.
To make matters worse, Cobb faces a Rays team that's been pretty hot at the dish of late. In fact, over the last two weeks, they rank 10th in weighted on-base average (wOBA; .333), 7th in isolated power (ISO; .181), and 11th in hard-hit rate (36.9%).
That should be enough for you to steer clear of Cobb on Thursday night.
