Yovani Gallardo will be taking the mound for Texas tonight, putting the Houston offense in a great spot. Gallardo has an ugly 5.41 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) over 9 games in 2018, which puts him on pace for his third consecutive season, with a mark worse than 5.25. Even though we're used to seeing him struggle at this point, he's allowing contact we've never seen from him before, with a career-high 37.1% hard-hit rate.
You're going to want exposure to the Astros' offense here, and Josh Reddick is a strong way to get that without having to pay a premium.
Reddick has seen a dip in production this year, but his .324 wOBA and .159 isolated slugging (ISO) are still both viable marks when he's in a matchup this good. If we expand our view back to include 2017, he has also put up some especially solid numbers against right-handed pitching, with a .345 wOBA and .168 ISO over 654 plate appearances.
