Cole Hamels wasn't very good in Texas this year, and a move back to the National League could certainly boost his production. That being said, he is still nowhere near the pitcher he once was, and he's actually become a guy we can target for upside with right-handed bats.
Hamels pitched to a pedestrian 4.72 ERA with the Rangers, and has allowed a whopping 22 home runs to righties in 2018. His ERA was almost four runs higher when pitching in Arlington, but July was a disaster no matter where he pitched (11.12 ERA).
Starling Marte has historically hit Hamels well, and he profiles as an intriguing candidate to plug into your lineups tonight. The Pirates' outfielder is 6-15 lifetime versus Hamels with a home run, a double and two stolen bases. His upside in particular is through the roof in this spot, as his blend of power and speed (16 home runs, 25 stolen bases) allows him to rack up fantasy points in a hurry.
