5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 8/7/18
Seattle has a big implied total in a great matchup against Bartolo Colon, which makes Denard Span a quality value option. Which other low-cost hitters should you target on Tuesday?

Denard Span, OF, Seattle Mariners

Price: $2,600

The Seattle Mariners are another great offense to target, with their 5.56 implied total sitting as the second-highest on the slate.

They draw a matchup with Texas Rangers righty Bartolo Colon, and that makes them hard to ignore. The 45-year-old Colon has a 4.71 SIERA on the year, which is still ugly despite being an improvement over his 5.08 SIERA from 2017.

His 42.3% hard-hit rate is also by far the highest of his 16-year-career, and that has been especially big trouble in the confines of the hitter-friendly Globe Life Park. Colon has a 5.77 FIP and is allowing a .363 wOBA at home, compared to a 4.61 FIP and .325 wOBA on the road.

Denard Span has a reasonable .336 wOBA and .164 ISO on a 31.0% hard-hit rate and 37.2% fly-ball rate against righties this year, and that is more than enough to leave him offering strong value against Colon.
