Speaking of home run upside, the Los Angeles Dodgers offer no shortage of that as they travel to Coors Field to take on the Colorado Rockies tonight. Their offense is one of the highest-projected on the slate, ranking second with a 5.47 implied total as they take on Rockies southpaw Tyler Anderson and his 4.25 SIERA.
Austin Barnes has seen a huge drop in production this year, but if he's in the lineup tonight (be sure to confirm that before locking him in) he still offers plenty of upside. His low numbers come with a small 99 plate appearance sample against lefties, where he does his best work. Small sample size variance and a bunch of work against righties could explain his underwhelming results.
On the other hand, in over 257 career plate appearances against southpaws, he has turned a 35.5% hard-hit rate into a .340 wOBA and .163 ISO. Even if those aren't jaw-dropping numbers, they're fairly solid, and bringing them into a plus pitching matchup at Coors is easy to like.
