5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 8/13/18
Jedd Gyorko's power puts him in a great spot against Tommy Milone. Which other low-cost bats should you target on Monday?

Daniel Palka, OF, Chicago White Sox

Price: $2,700

Daniel Palka hasn't been a super consistent bat for the White Sox this year, but his power makes him an excellent fantasy producer.

He has managed only a .321 wOBA with a big 34.1% strikeout rate and 16.8% swinging-strike rate. When he does connect with a swing, though, he tends to do some damage. Over 293 plate appearances, he has notched a 38.6% hard-hit rate and 39.8% fly-ball rate. Among the 346 hitters with at least 100 batted balls on the year, Palka ranks 19th in average exit velocity, and that has translated to a hefty .257 ISO.

He'll be up against the Detroit Tigers and righty Artie Lewicki, putting him in a good spot to show off that power. Lewicki has managed a 4.57 SIERA over 16 career Major League starts, and he has opened the 2018 season allowing a huge 47.3% hard-hit rate, bringing his career average to 41.4%.
