Price: $10,500
Atlanta Braves starter Mike Foltynewicz is the most expensive starter on tonight's slate, but he should be a pretty worthwhile expense as he takes on the struggling Miami Marlins. Foltynewicz has had an outstanding season, with a 2.72 ERA, 3.38 FIP, and 3.68 Skill Independent ERA (SIERA). He's improved his strikeout rate from 20.7% last year to 28.2% this season, and in two starts against the Fish, Foltynewicz has given up just 1 earned run in 13 innings of work, with 11 strikeouts, 5 walks and a 0.69 ERA.
The Miami offense is one of the worst in baseball, with a ..293 wOBA that is better than only the San Diego Padres' .292, and an isolated power (ISO) of .121 that is dead last by a wide margin. And while they struggle against everybody, their .294 wOBA against right-handed pitchers is third-worst in baseball.
As a result, the Marlins possess one of the lowest implied scores of the night (3.41), so Folty is projected to pile up the second-most fantasy points among pitchers. He's worth the heavy price tag.
