Rookie pitchers often have some ups and downs, and for Freddy Peralta of the Milwaukee Brewers, that's been true for him as well this year. Over 69 1/3 innings, Peralta has been solid with a 4.02 ERA and 4.04 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA), including a 30.4% strikeout rate.
Whereas lefties have hit him hard, Peralta has shined against same-sided bats, limiting them to a .193 wOBA, .106 batting average, and 32.9% strikeout rate. Righties have stood no chance against him.
Enter speedster Jose Peraza, who hasn't been at his best in this split. This season, he's recorded a .313 wOBA, and he's only logged a .114 isolated power (ISO), including a 30.8% hard-hit rate.
