Kris Bryant has only played in eight games (seven starts) since returning from the disabled list, and his production has not looked good in that time. It would be easy to chalk this up to the lingering effects of his shoulder injury, but his contact hasn't been terrible, with an 86.4 mile per hour average exit velocity -- matching his season average.
He's only made 75 plate appearances against southpaws in 2018, but he has been deadly in that sample, converting a 47.9% hard-hit and 45.8% fly-ball rate into a .467 wOBA and .388 ISO. With a career average .409 wOBA and .275 ISO in that split, he shouldn't have many issues with Milwaukee's Wade Miley tonight.
Miley is allowing a career-high 39.5% hard-hit rate this season, and while his 2.12 ERA looks great, it comes with a weak 4.60 SIERA. Having posted a 5.07 SIERA and 5.61 ERA in 2017, we can expect his production to drop off significantly as we move forward.
