Daniel Palka has shown a ton of pop this season, with a .235 ISO on a 37.0% hard-hit and 38.3% fly-ball rate.
His numbers get even more impressive if we just look at his 321 plate appearances against right-handed pitching, turning a 37.6% hard-hit and 40.6% fly-ball rate into a .331 wOBA and .261 ISO in that split.
That makes it easy to like tonight's matchup against the Baltimore Orioles and righty Luis Ortiz. Ortiz has only pitched two-thirds of a Major League inning in his career, but his six Triple-A starts this year saw him struggle to the tune of a 4.49 xFIP. The O's will likely being going to the bullpen early in this one, and with their relievers boasting the worst group xFIP (4.69) in the MLB, that's not any less promising a situation for Palka.
