Getting regular at-bats as the season winds down, Lewis Brinson hasn't shown that he is ready to deal with Major League pitching, especially against same-sided arms. This season in 269 plate appearances, Brinson owns a 32.0% strikeout rate and .239 wOBA against righties.

It doesn't help that tonight's opponent, Cincinnati Reds starter Luis Castillo, has been ballin' as of late. Since the calendar hit September, the young righty owns a 13.9% swinging-strike rate, 30.2% strikeout rate, and 1.46 ERA over 24 2/3 innings pitched.

Cheap outfield slots are fun to find, but Brinson does not seem like an ideal play.
