The Los Angeles Angels have a strong 5.02 implied total as they host righty Adrian Sampson and the Texas Rangers on Monday.

Sampson has pitched just 11 Major League innings, but his 4.72 xFIP in that sample isn't promising, especially when combined with a hard-hit rate over 50% and a soft-hit rate in the single-digits. A look back to his 33-game Triple-A sample from this year isn't any better, with a 4.72 xFIP in those games.

Kole Calhoun has had an up-and-down year, and while his production is very much "down" recently, his .207 wOBA in September comes with an absurdly low .119 BABIP, despite his excellent 45.5% hard-hit rate and 11.4% soft-hit rate. Contact numbers like that mean he continues to offer excellent upside, especially in a matchup as appealing as this one.
