3 MLB FanDuel Studs to Target on 9/27/18
With Ariel Jurado starting for the Rangers, Nelson Cruz offers some elite upside. What other high-priced players should you target?

Nelson Cruz, OF, Seattle Mariners

Price: $4,100

Nelson Cruz is someone you don't have to worry about platoon splits with. 232 hitters have at least 50 batted balls in righty-versus-righty matchups this season, and Cruz ranks second in the group in average exit velocity. His ranking doesn't fall much if we include left-handed sticks, still sitting top-five. Combining that exit velocity with a 36.8% fly-ball rate has earned him a .357 wOBA and .243 ISO in the split.

Even playing at home in a pitcher-friendly park, those numbers give him huge upside in a terrific matchup against Texas Rangers righty Ariel Jurado.

Jurado skipped over the Triple-A level this year, going straight from Double-A to the Majors. He only posted a 4.12 xFIP in his 101 2/3 Double-A innings, though, and his time in the Majors has gone about how you would expect.

He has made 11 appearances (7 starts, 48 2/3 innings), and his SIERA sits at an egregious 5.46, his 8.1% walk rate nearly matches his 8.6% strikeout rate, and he has been tagged for a 44.6% hard-hit rate.

This is a dreamy matchup for Cruz, and he offers a ton of upside.
