Fantasy Baseball: 5 Bargain Hitters to Target
Jed Lowrie is coming off a fantastic 2018 season, but he's being ignored in drafts so far. What other late-round bats should we target?

Nick Markakis, OF, Atlanta Braves

NFBC ADP: 345th

Positional Rank: 85

Draft Round (12-team league): 29th

This pick is a free space. Going in the second-to-last round of NFBC drafts, and sometimes undrafted altogether, Nick Markakis could be a major late-round addition to your teams.

If a fantasy squad of yours rostered guys like Joey Gallo, who kill your average but provide plenty of pop, Markakis is a solid complement. Last season, the veteran outfielder finished 19th among qualified hitters in batting average (.297). Markakis has hit .275 or better in 11 of his 13 major league seasons, and his durability is shown with 500 or more plate appearances in 12 of those seasons.

Don't ignore Markakis's pop at the dish, either -- SunTrust park, the Atlanta Braves' new digs, ranked 22nd in park factor for lefties last year, and Markakis ripped 14 home runs. Ignore what may be perceived as a boring commodity at your own risk.
