After injuries plagued both of Michael Brantley's 2016 and 2017 seasons, limiting him to a total of 418 major plate appearances, he returned as an offensive force as part of the Cleveland Indians a year ago. That injury risk seems to be deflating his value, but as part of the potent Houston Astros' lineup and likely a premium lineup spot, Brantley could be primed for a huge season.
According to Roster Resource, Brantley is set to hit fifth, nicely tucked in behind Alex Bregman, Jose Altuve, and Carlos Correa, giving him plenty of RBI opportunities. From 2010 to 2015, Brantley added double-digit steals in every year, and from 2012 to 2015, he topped a .285 batting average in each season, which is a huge positive for NFBC-style leagues.
Assuming he can remain healthy -- which isn't a given but is something the Astros certainly bet on with a two-year, $32 million contract -- expect another robust season from Brantley as part of a very strong offense in Houston.
