Going up against Baltimore Orioles right-hander Andrew Cashner makes the Toronto Blue Jays' offense one you want to target tonight.
Pitching in 28 games in each of the 2017 and 2018 seasons, Cashner's last two years have seen him post skill-interactive ERAs (SIERA) of 5.52 and 5.33. Last year's struggles included allowing the highest hard-hit rate (32.5%) and highest fly-ball rate (36.2%) of his career, and 2019 didn't get off to any better a start.
A one-game sample is too small to read too much into, but he made it only four innings into his first start of the season, walking four and allowing six runs on six hits, though it was at Yankee Stadium. It's no surprise that the Jays have Tuesday's second-highest implied total (4.92).
Rowdy Tellez is off to a solid start to 2019, having already smacked a three-run homer among his nine plate appearances so far.
We haven't seen a ton from him at the Major League level, with only 82 plate appearances between this year and last, but he's made excellent contact (39.3% hard-hit rate and 39.3% fly-ball rate), which has translated to a .402 wOBA and .312 ISO. That leaves him priced well below his ceiling in such a prime matchup like this one.
