Nathan Eovaldi is coming off a strong 2018 season in which he managed a career-best 3.71 SIERA. That means this is a tough matchup, but in a game with a 9-run over/under, the Oakland Athletics still have a reasonable 4.23 implied total.
Eovaldi also had some pretty drastic platoon splits last year, and his 4.11 xFIP and .318 wOBA allowed to left-handed bats, while not terrible, isn't especially intimidating.
The switch-hitting Kendrys Morales has done his best work against righties over his career (.341 wOBA and .203 ISO), and even as he gets up in age and his production slows, he still produces well in that split. In 2018, he made 320 plate appearances against righties, turning a 43.9% hard-hit rate into a .365 wOBA and .220 ISO.
